圣誕節(jié)快樂英語作文 10
For todays Christian, the origin of Christmas is, and should be, the birth of Jesus Christ as recorded in the Bible. Nothing more and nothing less. However, most of what we witness on December 25th each year has absolutely nothing to do with that blessed day, which probably occurred in late summer or early fall about 2,000 years ago. In fact, most of the customs and traditions of Christmas actually pre-date the birth of Jesus, and many of them are downright deceptive in their meaning and origin. Anyway, who cares when Christ was born? Christmas Day,the 25th of December,is the biggest festival(節(jié)日)celebrated in the Christian countries of the world.Although everyone enjoys Christmas Day,it is particularly enjoyed to children, who get very excited because of the presents they know they are going to receive.Small children believe that their presents are brought by Father Christmas(圣誕老人).Father Christmas is a kind of old man who,the children are told, lives at the North Pole.He travels through the sky on a sleigh(雪撬) which is pulled by reindeers(馴鹿) and loaded with(裝滿) presents.Stopping on the roof of houses,he enters to climbing the chimney(煙囪).When small children go to bed on Christmas Eve,they hang a stocking at the end of their beds.Their parents warn them not to try to look at Father Christmas,or he will not leave them anything. When they wake, they find their stockings filled with presents.Children are very excited on Christmas morning and always wake up early. 圣誕節(jié)快樂英語作文 11
Yesterday was Christmas Eve. I put a Christmas stocking in
the pink tent. I hope Santa will give me the gift I want. Early this morning, I went to the colorful tent to look for gifts. Wow, really! I hurried in and found that it was a box of colored mud, which I had thought for a long time. I found a letter from Santa Claus to me. He said that he specially learned Chinese characters to write to me, and asked me to be an honest, diligent and obedient child, so that I can receive his gifts every year.
After reading the letter, I carefully opened the packing box and took out the tool bag. The bag was so strong that I couldnt open it with my hands. I had to find scissors, slowly cut it along the sealing line, take out the colorful tools and put them next to me. Then I took out cans of colored mud. I was anxious to open a can of pink, but I couldnt open it. I think: the quality of gifts from Santa Claus is really good! I ran to the study and asked my mother to open it. The pink colored mud is soft in your hand. When you smell it, there is a faint fragrance. I pinched a strawberry with it, gently put it on the purple plate and gave it to my mother. Mom is very happy. I also made a muffin with orange colored mud and thanked Santa Claus for bringing me happiness in this festival. Although he has gone, he must be able to hear what I said to him. Thank you, Santa! I will remember your words and be an excellent pupil!

I look forward to Christmas because it will give me unexpected surprises. I can receive gifts from Santa Claus, such as a white sheep as snow, a snowman with a round head and a tearful Doraemon. It seems that I want to cry something with me. I was so excited that I couldnt sleep on Christmas night. Im looking forward to tonights gift. Later, grandma said, "you should go to bed quickly so that Santa Claus will send you the gifts early." After listening, I obediently closed my eyes and fell asleep. In the middle of the night, I suddenly woke up and looked for gifts in bed. When I couldnt find them, I began to cry. When my grandmother heard my cry, she rushed over and asked me what happened. I said sadly, "Santa didnt give me gifts. I wont sleep until Santa gave me gifts." My grandmother turned out a little yellow duck from behind my feet. Its fat and yellow. Press its belly and the little yellow duck will cry; "Gaga" is so cute! I burst into laughter. Last year, my mother told me that there is no Santa Claus in the world, but I still believe that Santa Claus still exists. I really look forward to what Santa Claus will give me this year.

Today, I got up early in the morning and went to look at the calendar. Wow, it turned out that today is Christmas. When I came to the school, I saw that some students gave the teacher cards, some students were packaging fruit, some students were saying happy holidays to the teacher, and some students gave the teacher beautifully packaged safe fruits. The teacher smiled happily. The whole morning was so happy. Everyone had no trouble at all. After school, the teacher smiled and said, "I wish you a happy Christmas." When I went to math class in the afternoon, I saw the trace of Santa Claus. The children put on Christmas hats. Everyone was very happy. The teacher asked a male classmate to perform the appearance of Change running to the moon. He suddenly jumped on another classmate. The teacher said humorously, "this is not April Fools day, its Christmas." It made everyone laugh. How time flies! Soon after class, my parents took me to a restaurant for dinner. When I got there, Santa Claus sent me a gift. I smiled happily. Christmas is really happy. I hope I can have Christmas every day. Let me be happy every day. Dont think about it anymore. I wish you a happy Christmas!

I like Christmas, it is just like our Spring Festival. Maybe the Spring Festival is much more important and interesting than Christmas, but I like Christmas Day better. Because we can spend time with our friends and classmates during Christmas. When it is snowy, Christmas becomes much more lovely, just like in fairytales. I can imagine I am in a fairytale, the girl who sold the matches is my friend, the ugly duck becoming more and more beautiful and so on. What a beautiful place! So we can also call Christmas “Snowy Lovely Day.” On Christmas Day, shops are red and green. There are so many Christmas cards, Christmas hats, Christmas dolls and many colourful things. So shops look very beautiful. We can give a card or a doll to our friends and say “Merry Christmas.” By the way, I think studying can also become much more interesting. Christmas is coming, it also means a new year will come. Let’s study harder to welcome.
圣誕節(jié)快樂英語作文 19
Wild Bill Donovan would have loved the Internet. The American spymaster who built the Office of Strategic Services in the World War II and later laid the roots for the CIA was fascinated with information. Donovan believed in using whatever tools came to hand in the “great game” of espionage-spying as a “profession, These days the Net, which has already re-made such everyday pastimes as buying books and sending mail, is reshaping Donovans vocation as well。
The latest revolution isnt simply a matter of gentlemen reading other gentlemen’s e-mail. That kind of electronic spying has been going on for decades. In the past three or four years, the World Wide Web has given birth to a whole industry of point-and-click spying. The spooks call it “open-source intelligence,” and as the Net grows, it is becoming increasingly influential. In 1995 the CIA held a contest to see who could compile the most data about Burundi. The winner, by a large margin, was a tiny Virginia company called Open-Source Solutions, whose clear advantage was its mastery of the electronic world。
Among the firms making the biggest splash in this new world is Straitford, Inc., a private intelligence-analysis firm based in Austin, Texas. Straitford makes money by selling the results of spying (covering nations from Chile to Russia) to corporations like energy-services firm McDermott International. Many of its predictions are available online at www.straitford.com。
Straitford president George Friedman says he sees the online world as a kind of mutually reinforcing tool for both information collection and distribution, a spymasters dream. Last week his firm was busy vacuuming up data bits from the far corners of the world and predicting a crisis in Ukraine!癆s soon as that report runs, well suddenly get 500 new Internet sign-ups from Ukraine,” says Friedman, a former political science professor. “And well hear back from some of them! Open-source spying does have its risks, of course, since it can be difficult to tell good information from bad. That’s where Straitford earns its keep。
Friedman relies on a lean staff of 20 in Austin. Several of his staff members have military-intelligence backgrounds. He sees the firms outsider status as the key to its success. Straitfords briefs dont sound like the usual Washington back-and-forthing, whereby agencies avoid dramatic declarations on the chance they might be wrong. Straitford, says Friedman, takes pride in its independent voice。

圣誕節(jié)快樂英語作文 21
Christmas, annual Christian holiday commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ. Most members of the Roman Catholic Church and followers of Protestantism celebrate Christmas on December 25, and many celebrate on the evening of December 24 as well. Members of the Eastern Orthodox Church usually delay their most important seasonal ceremonies until January 6, when they celebrate Epiphany, a commemoration of the baptism of Jesus. Epiphany also traditionally commemorates the arrival of the Three Wise Men of the East in Bethlehem (near Jerusalem, Israel), where they adored the infant Jesus and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. The official Christmas season, popularly known as either Christmastide or the Twelve Days of Christmas, extends from the anniversary of Christ’s birth on December 25 to the feast of Epiphany on January 6. Christmas is based on the story of Jesus’ birth as described in the Gospel according to Matthew (see Matthew 1:18-2:12) and the Gospel according to Luke (see Luke 1:26-56). Roman Catholics first celebrated Christmas, then known as the Feast of the Nativity, as early as 336 ad. The word Christmas entered the English language sometime around 1050 as the Old English phrase Christes maesse, meaning “festival of Christ.” Scholars believe the frequently used shortened form of Christmas—Xmas—may have come into use in the 13th century. The X stands for the Greek letter chi, an abbreviation of Khristos (Christ), and also represents the cross on which Jesus was crucified.

圣誕節(jié)快樂英語作文 27
the Feast of Christmas
It is not easy to pin-point the origins of the Christmas feast, today the more important feast of the Christmas season in most western Christian churches. One can only say for certain that the birth of Jesus Christ was being celebrated in Rome by the year 336 A.D.; afterwards the feast was celebrated in other Christian churches throughout the world.
Why it was celebrated on December 25th is another question. No date for the birth of Jesus can be found in the New Testament, which is concerned more with the question "Who is Jesus?" than the date of his birth. Early Christian speculation about his birth date was influenced by the symbolism of the changing seasons, then popular in religious thought, which paid careful attention to the equinoxes and solstices of the sun. Christian scholars speculated that Jesus was conceived at the spring equinox (March 25th) and therefore was born on December 25th, the date of the winter solstice.
In many of the Christian churches, March 25th is still the Feast of the Annunciation, when the Angel Gabriel announced to Mary that she was to be the mother of Jesus.
Possible impluse for the feast of Christmas may have came too from the establishment of the pagan feast of the "Unconquered Sun-God" by the Emperor Aurelian in 274 A.D. to be celebrated on December 25, the day of the winter solstice in Rome and throughout the empire. In response, Christians could celebrate the feast of the "Sun of righteousness" (Malachi 4,2), Jesus Christ, who called himself " the light of the world."

The children are usually sent to bed early and are warned that “Santa Claus will only come and give you a present if you be good.” The younger kids actually believe that Santa will come down the chimney on the sleigh that’s pulled by his reindeers. Food like short bread and beer are prepared for Santa when he comes, however most times parents just eat them. Some children put socks and sacks up for the holding of the presents (that their parents put in).
Rise and shine on Christmas morning! The children are always the first ones to wake up, some even do at four. Present wrappers everywhere! They look into their presents with a big smile on their face and oh dear….I hope no one’s disappointed. I feel sorry for anyone that got pink underwear. Children play while dinner is prepared by the adults. The Christmas dinner are usually eaten together by relatives. The tradition of Christmas pudding and roosters are usually eaten with deserts afterwards. The rest of the day is usually games and fun before the good days all come to an end.
I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!
圣誕節(jié)快樂英語作文 29
On Christmas night, I had a beautiful dream.
I dreamed I was in the snowman village. There are many big
snowmen waving to me. I saw many very beautiful little houses
there. There are many Christmas elves in the house. The Elves
were very friendly to me. They took me to see Santa Claus. Santa Claus said, "Im going to give you presents. Just go with me."
After that, as soon as Santa Claus whistled, the reindeer pulled the car and ran over. Santa Claus and I got in the car. Santa Claus carried the gifts on his back, and I took the list of gifts. The deer cart flew up. I opened the list and found that the list was too long. I stretched out the list with my two arms, but it was still not long enough. I read the list while Santa handed out gifts. The streets are filled with childrens laughter. Some of them sing and some dance. They are very happy. The gift was finally delivered. Santa and I went back to the
snowman village. I was about to say goodbye to them when
Santa stopped me. The Santa took out the last gift from his
pocket and gave it to me. I thanked Santa and went home. I think this is my happiest Christmas.
