abandon 拋棄，離棄。一般指完全和永久地舍棄某人或某物�？捎糜诎x，也可以用于貶義。書面語用的多。
The sailors abandoned the burning ship.船員們放棄了著火的船。
desert遺棄，離棄。指某人或某物無人問津，或在困難時或困境中被人背棄。多用于貶義，有時可引申為“失去”的意思。

capacity n. 能力，容量。既可以用于人也可以用于物。用于人指接受、吸收、掌握、理解的能力;用于物則指容量、容納能力。
He has a capacity for mathematics. 他有學數學的能力。
