　　英國(guó)近幾年就開(kāi)始推廣“學(xué)生步行巴士”計(jì)劃，鼓勵(lì)學(xué)生步行上下學(xué)，由家長(zhǎng)輪流護(hù)送。這樣既能鍛煉身體，又不會(huì)堵車(chē)，而且減少溫室氣體排放，可謂是“一舉三得”。

　　A walking bus is a large group of kids who walk to and from school, supervised by two or more adults and considered as a healthy and environmentally-friendly option. A group of volunteer parents organize themselves to take their turn in chaperoning the children, one filling the role of the driver, who leads the group, and the other the conductor, who follows at the back. Like conventional buses, walking bus have designated 'bus stops' (places on the route to school where children can wait to be collected) and scheduled 'pick-up times'.

　　步行巴士(walking bus)指一群孩子在兩個(gè)以上大人的護(hù)送下步行上下學(xué)的方式，被認(rèn)為是一種健康又環(huán)保的出行方式。參與“步行巴士”的家長(zhǎng)會(huì)自發(fā)組織起來(lái)輪流護(hù)送孩子們，一名大人會(huì)充當(dāng)“司機(jī)”的角色走在前面帶領(lǐng)整個(gè)隊(duì)伍，另外一名則充當(dāng)“售票員”跟在隊(duì)伍后面。而且，“步行巴士”和傳統(tǒng)的巴士一樣也設(shè)有“車(chē)站”(沿途可以讓孩子們加入步行巴士的地點(diǎn))和“接站時(shí)刻”。

　　The walking bus idea originated in the United Kingdom, and the expression has been in general use there since 2004. Walking bus initiatives have proved extremely popular and effective in the UK. More recently, walking buses have gained a level of popularity in the United States, Australia and New Zealand.

　　“步行巴士”這一理念來(lái)自于英國(guó)，而walking bus這個(gè)表達(dá)自2004年起就開(kāi)始廣泛使用了。目前，這一做法在英國(guó)已很普遍，而且證實(shí)卓有成效。近幾年，在美國(guó)、澳大利亞及新西蘭等國(guó)也開(kāi)始得到一定認(rèn)可。
