　　【Love and Friensdship】

　　Love is like the wild rose briar. Friendship like the holly tree.

　　愛情就像野玫瑰，友情卻如冬青樹。

　　The holly is dark when the rose briar blooms. But which will bloom most constantly?

　　玫瑰開花時冬青黯無光，但究竟誰能堅持更久長?

　　The wild rose briar is sweet in the spring. Its summer blossoms scent the art;

　　春天野玫瑰燦爛開放，夏日里玫瑰把風(fēng)兒薰香。

　　Yet wait till winter comes again. And who will call the wild-briar fair?

　　但當(dāng)嚴(yán)冬再次來臨之時，誰還會贊美野玫瑰的美麗?

　　Then scorn the silly rose wreath now. And deck thee with the holly's sheen.

　　那時你不屑于枯萎的玫瑰，而用冬青的'光彩將你裝扮。

　　That when December blights thy brow. He may still leave thy garland green.

　　當(dāng)十二月的嚴(yán)寒襲上你的眉頭，你的冬青花環(huán)依舊綠意盎然。

　　When you are old and grey and full of sleep,

　　And nodding by the fire, take down this book,

　　And slowly read, and dream of the soft look

　　Your eyes had once, and of their shadows deep;

　　How many loved your moments of glad grace,

　　And loved your beauty with love false or true,

　　But one man loved the pilgrim soul in you,

　　And loved the sorrows of your changing face;

　　And bending down beside the glowing bars,

　　Murmur, a little sadly, how Love fled

　　And paced upon the mountains overhead

　　And hid his face amid a crowd of stars.

　　當(dāng)年華已逝，你兩鬢斑白，沉沉欲睡，

　　坐在爐邊慢慢打盹，請取下我的這本詩集，

　　請緩緩讀起，如夢一般，你會重溫，

　　你那脈脈眼波，她們是曾經(jīng)那么的深情和柔美。

　　多少人曾愛過你容光煥發(fā)的楚楚魅力，

　　愛你的傾城容顏，或是真心，或是做戲，

　　但只有一個人!他愛的是你圣潔虔誠的心!

　　當(dāng)你洗盡鉛華，傷逝紅顏的老去，他也依然深愛著你!

　　爐里的.火焰溫暖明亮，你輕輕低下頭去，

　　帶著淡淡的凄然，為了枯萎熄滅的愛情，喃喃低語，

　　此時他正在千山萬壑之間獨(dú)自游蕩，

　　在那滿天凝視你的繁星后面隱起了臉龐。
