　　故事一：Whose car? 誰的車?

　　One day Mr. and Mrs. White go shopping by car. They stop their car near a store. They buy a lot of things and they want to put the things in the car. But Mr. White can’t open the door of the car, so they ask a policeman to help them. The policeman is very friendly to help them. Just then a man comes up and shouts: “What are you doing with my car?”

　　Mr. and Mrs. White take a look at the car’s number and they are frozen there. It isn’t their car.

　　故事二：The Wind And The Sun 風(fēng)和太陽

　　One day the wind said to the sun, “Look at that man walking along the road. I can get his cloak off more quickly than you can.”

　　“We will see about that,” said the sun. “I will let you try first.”

　　So the wind tried to make the man take off his cloak. He blew and blew, but the man only pulled his cloak more closely around himself.

　　“I give up,” said the wind at last. “I cannot get his cloak off.” Then the sun tried. He shone as hard as he could. The man soon became hot and took off his cloak.

　　故事三：Fox and cock 狐貍和公雞

　　One morning a fox sees a cock. He thinks," This is my breakfast.''

　　He comes up to the cock and says, "I know you can sing very well. Can you sing for me?'' The cock is glad. He closes his eyes and begins to sing. The fox sees that and catches him in his mouth and carries him away. The people in the field see the fox. They cry," Look, look! The fox is carrying the cock away.'' The cock says to the fox," Mr. Fox, do you understand? The people say you are carrying their cock away .Tell them it is yours. Not theirs.''

　　The fox opens his mouth and says," The cock is mine, not yours.' 'Just then the cock runs away from the fox and flies into the tree.

　　狐貍和公雞

　　一天早上，一只狐貍看到了一只公雞。他想：這是我的早餐。

　　他朝公雞走來，對他說：“我知道，你能唱得非常好聽，你能唱給我聽么?”公雞很高興。他閉上眼睛開始唱歌。狐貍看到這抓住它放到自己的嘴里走了。

　　故事四：The wolf and the sheep 狼和羊

　　A wolf had been badly wounded by dogs. He lay sick and maimed in his lair.

　　He felt very hungry and thirsty. When a sheep passed by, he asked him to fetch some water from the stream.

　　"If you bring me the water," he said, "I will find means to get some food."

　　"Yes," said the sheep, "if I bring you the water, you would undoubtedly make me your food."

　　狼被狗所咬，傷勢很嚴(yán)重，痛苦地躺在巢穴里，不能外出覓食。

　　他感到又餓又渴，這時，他看見一只羊，便請求他到附近的小河里為他取一點水來。

　　“你給我一點水解渴”，他說，“我就能自己去尋找食物了�！�

　　“是呀”，羊回答說，“如果我給你送水喝，那么我就會成為你的食物�！�

　　寓意: 謊言是經(jīng)不起推敲的，它很容易被人們識破。

　　故事五：狐貍和葡萄

　　One hot summer day a fox was walking through an orchard. He stopped before a bunch of grapes. They were ripe and juicy. "I'm just feeling thirsty," he thought. So he backed up a few paces, got a running start, jumped up, but could not reach the grapes.

　　He walked back. One, two, three, he jumped up again, but still, he missed the grapes.

　　The fox tried again and again, but never succeeded. At last he decided to give it up.

　　He walked away with his nose in the air, and said“I am sure they are sour.”

　　一個炎熱的夏日，狐貍走過一個果園，他停在一大串熟透而多汁的葡萄前。

　　狐貍想：“我正口渴呢。”于是他后退了幾步，向前一沖，跳起來，卻無法夠到葡萄。

　　狐貍后退又試。一次，兩次，三次，但是都沒有得到葡萄。

　　狐貍試了一次又一次，都沒有成功。最后，他決定放棄，他昂起頭,邊走邊說：“葡萄還沒有成熟，我敢肯定它是酸的�！�

　　寓意: 在經(jīng)歷了許多嘗試而不能獲得成功的時候，有些人往往故意輕視成功，以此來尋求心理安慰。
